Curious about your career path?
We can help with that!
The Youth Ambassador Program (YAP) is meant to be an introduction to entrepreneur life for youth aged 13-18, while also helping them to uncover their life goals and purpose. The goal is not to make everyone into an entrepreneur, but to show youth how entrepreneurship can fit in with different career and educational paths. Ultimately, we want to help youth to make the most informed decisions possible about their futures.
Inspired by the hundreds of youth TNBT has connected with over the first two years of its development, Bright Idea is a new program developed to address a real need felt by our next generation. Created to build business and entrepreneurial acumen from the inside out, this program targets youth aged 13-18, exploring their skills, talent and interests that can inform their career trajectory, build skills and highlight individual strengths at a pivotal moment. Engaging with the themes of Purpose, Passion, Impact, Problem & Solution and Growth and incorporating aspects of mindfulness, fitness and team-building participants built a community as their develop their individual skills.
In 2017 TNBT will launch the full programming of Bright Ideas with the goals to education, empower and connect youth from across North America. Beyond the new programmatic components, TNBT will be hosting summer Bright Idea boot-camps for youth living in the Lower Mainland. Sign up to our newsletter to receive updates about the program, its development and be the first to know about regional bootcamps!
TNBT partners with organizations like Junior Achievement of BC, Startup Skool, and Lighthouse labs to run one day workshops on specific career path topics. We also work with our extensive network of entrepreneurs, fellows, and mentors to give inspirational and informative talks on what you can truly achieve as a young individual if you just give it a go.
Over 2-4 days, TNBT staff, and mentors from our network, work with students to help them explore their skills and interests, and give them tools to help make decisions about their futures. Students are mentored throughout this process and develop stronger confidence in themselves as creative entrepreneurs. Connect with us at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn about our upcoming camps, and how you can get a camp in your community!
The Toolkit will be an online youth-centred resource for developing business acumen. It will include tools to help youth build their own networks of young entrepreneurs, information on how to run a group hangout, step-by-step instructions for self-directed projects to develop business skills and ventures, and to encourage creative and critical thinking.
